Restore the Classroom
Father Frank's Education Project in Uganda
A School Is Growing...But the Classrooms Are Falling Behind
In 2024, CARITAS funded deep-water wells in two extremely remote villages in Uganda.
For the first time, families had clean, reliable water.
And something incredible happened.
Children could finally go to school instead of walking long distances to fetch water. Enrollment surged. Hope returned.
In response, Fr. Frank Kyazze and his colleagues established community Catholic schools in both villages to meet the growing need.
But today, the classrooms are struggling to keep up.
What the Children Are Facing Right Now
Many of the existing classrooms:
-
Have dirt floors
-
Lack windows and shutters
-
Are unplastered and poorly lit
-
Become unusable during the rainy season
-
Are filled with dust, causing respiratory illness
-
Are overcrowded, with multiple grade levels sharing one space
As Fr. Frank explains in the videos, learning often stops when it rains. Children fall sick. Sanitation and dignity are compromised
Our Focus Right Now:
Renovate 4 Existing Classroom Buildings
This will immediately create clean, safe, dignified learning spaces for hundreds of children.
