Uganda is home to CARITAS for Children’s largest program. Sponsorship provides essential educational support, but it cannot meet every need that affects a child’s ability to remain in school.

Students may lose sponsors or receive only partial support. Families can suddenly face food insecurity, unsafe housing, medical concerns, or other emergencies. Our local partners also encounter needs that cannot always be anticipated in advance.

Your gift to the Uganda Program Fund allows CARITAS to respond where support is most urgently needed within Uganda, helping children remain in school while strengthening the families and communities around them.

Support Beyond the Classroom

A child’s ability to remain in school is closely connected to the stability of the family at home. CARITAS responds to needs such as food insecurity, housing, clean water, and other challenges that can put a child’s education at risk.



Building Stronger Communities 

CARITAS has also helped families and communities address longer-term needs through clean-water projects, sustainable agriculture, food programs, housing assistance, and other initiatives that create greater stability.

These efforts strengthen the environment surrounding a child so that education has a better chance to lead to lasting change.
