Br. Stephen Ndambuki Mang’eli is a 27-year-old Kenyan born in Woke, Makueni County. Raised in a devout Catholic family, his spiritual journey began early in life. Inspired by altar servers while in Primary Six and deeply moved by the preaching of his parish priest, Stephen felt a strong desire to serve God as a priest. As he grew, so did his commitment — he joined the altar boys, the church choir, and learned to play the piano for Mass. While on school holidays, he actively participated in catechism classes and promoted devotions to the Divine Mercy and St. Padre Pio, whose humble and obedient life became a powerful inspiration to him.

Br. Stephen is a dedicated member of the Religious Association of the Sons of St. Pius of Pietrelcina, living in the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi. His dream of becoming a missionary priest has been shaped by his love for community life, service to the poor, and spreading the Gospel. Having completed his initial religious formation, he has now been admitted to pursue a three-year degree in Philosophy at Tangaza University College in Nairobi, starting in August 2025. This academic path is a vital step in his journey toward priesthood, equipping him spiritually and intellectually for future ministry to the Church and society.

However, the Association is currently facing financial challenges and is unable to support the full cost of his education for the entire three-year program. Br. Stephen humbly appeals for your generous support to help cover these costs. Your assistance will not only allow him to continue his priestly formation but also empower him to serve the poor, the youth, the sick, and all those in need with greater love, knowledge, and faith. Your support will be a great blessing to his vocation and to the many lives he hopes to touch through his future ministry.

About my community:
St. Anthony of Padua (Fort Portal)
In the Diocese of Fort Portal, CARITAS helps to sponsor Capuchin Franciscan seminarians during their priestly formation. The patron Saint for this community is St. Anthony of Padua, and we pray for his intercession so that these young men excel in their studies and also become holy priests, spreading the Gospel wherever they are assigned after ordination.
About my country:
Uganda
Known as the "Pearl of Africa," Uganda is located on the shores of Lake Victoria in the Great Lakes region of East Africa. Since emerging from decades of civil war and the devastation of AIDs, estimates indicate that 48% of Uganda's population is below the age of 15. Young children suffer disproportionately in the struggle to access healthcare, education, and clean water.
