Br. Pio Joel has felt a profound calling to serve God from an early age. Raised in a devout Catholic family, his journey of faith began as a child when he regularly attended Mass and joined family prayers with his grandparents. This spiritual foundation deepened as he became an Altar Boy, and later, while attending Don Bosco Secondary School, he took on the role of Sacristan and led Catechism classes. His empathy and compassion for marginalized students, particularly those who felt unloved or rejected, illuminated his sense of purpose. Inspired by the life of St. Padre Pio, Br. Pio Joel prayerfully decided to dedicate his life to the Franciscan Order, aspiring to become a priest who ministers to the poor, the sick, and the outcasts.
Currently, Br. Pio Joel is pursuing a degree in philosophical studies at Tangaza University in Nairobi, Kenya, as part of his formation on the path to priesthood. Having successfully completed his first year, he is ready to continue into his second year. However, financial challenges threaten to disrupt his studies. His education is critical to his formation as a Son of St. Pius of Pietrelcina, where he will live out the values of St. Pius by serving those most in need.
The Association of St. Pius has committed to covering his living expenses, including accommodation, travel, and medical care, but Br. Pio Joel still needs assistance with tuition fees. Any contribution would significantly ease this financial burden. By supporting his educational journey, benefactors will help him sustain his theological training, equipping him with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead church operations, manage ministries, and foster spiritual growth within his community.
A generous contribution towards Br. Pio Joel’s tuition will play a vital role in ensuring he can complete his studies and fulfill his vocation to serve as a priest to those in need.
