Br. Francisco Mulimangira is a 24-year-old young religious from Jinja, Uganda, born into a devout Catholic family to Joseph Waswa and Paulina Akumu. He is the eleventh child in the family. From a tender age, Francisco showed a deep love for the Church. Inspired by the life and example of St. Padre Pio, he felt called to become a Franciscan missionary priest. His early involvement in Church activities began in primary school as an altar server and continued in Nagongera Minor Seminary, where he joined the choir, played piano during Mass, participated in YCS, and led catechism classes. His desire to live a life of service, humility, and devotion led him to join the Sons of St. Pius of Pietrelcina, where he continues his formation as a future priest.
Br. Francisco has now been admitted to pursue a three-year degree in philosophical studies at Tangaza University in Nairobi, Kenya, beginning in August 2025. This program is a crucial part of his priestly formation, offering a solid foundation in both classical and contemporary philosophy. Despite his commitment, the Association of the Sons of St. Pius of Pietrelcina is currently facing financial hardship and is unable to fund his tuition and accommodation fees for the full three-year program.
We humbly appeal for your kind support to help Br. Francisco fulfill his calling. Your contribution will directly cover his tuition and accommodation, allowing him to concentrate on his academic and spiritual formation without interruption. Supporting Br. Francisco is not only an investment in his future but also in the lives of the many people he hopes to serve—especially the poor, sick, youth, and marginalized. With your generous assistance, you will be helping form a devoted missionary priest ready to serve the Church with humility, compassion, and unwavering faith.
