Giving HOPE to Children In Most Need
Yet, true to our faith and mission, we have continued to support these children even thought they lost their sponsorship, ensuring they are not forced back into conditions unfit for any child, often referred to bleakly as "home."
CARITAS has been able to keep these children in school by tapping into our “Where Most Needed” fund which is now supporting:
- 16 Boarding School Children
- 28 Day School Children
- 3 Post-Secondary School Students
For some, we cover full tuition, while for others, we negotiate reduced fees with schools and just provide supplies until a new sponsor is found.
The monthly amount CARITAS is currently paying to keep these children in school without the help of sponsorship is $2,580, totaling $30,960 annually.
We know these are not just numbers; they are souls entrusted to our care, relying on us for both their education and a safe haven that fosters their hope and faith.
However, this is unsustainable and our funds have dwindled to the point where we face the heartbreaking possibility of telling these children they have to go back “home.” Imagine having that job!
Originally, the versatile "Where Most Needed" fund was designed to swiftly address various urgent needs not covered by general sponsorship funds, such as special medical attention, psychological care, immediate food needs, emergency housing, unforeseen travel, legal assistance, and additional school supplies or clothing.
Recently, however, maintaining schooling has become its primary use, a role unsustainable in the long term, and completely limiting any possibility to help in emergency situations.
How You Can Extend God’s Mercy
To sustain our mission, we urgently need your support in one of three ways:
- Sponsor One of These "In Most Need" Children: Committing to a monthly sponsorship provides crucial support for schooling, meals, and religious education, sustaining their education and nurturing their spiritual life.
- Make a One-Time Donation: Contributions to our “Where Most Needed” fund allow us the flexibility to swiftly address urgent and immediate needs for our children and even their families.
- Donate to Help Keep These Children in School: Contributions in this category will be used specifically to keep children in school who have lost their sponsorships and are at risk of being forced back into dire circumstances.
