Help for Veronica

Raising six children can be difficult, even with necessary resources at your disposal. The daily tasks of cooking, taking care of basic needs, and discipling six children is taxing on any parent. Now imagine taking on this task without having a spouse to help you or a basic home to live in.

Veronica is a 40 year-old widow living in Uganda. She has six children: Yoronimu, Patrick, James, Noeline, Philomela, and Pauline. Her husband passed away in a motorcycle accident, and after his death, her family was left homeless.

Prior to his passing, they were living on a farm where he was working. Now that he is now longer there to work, the farm owner needs the space for another worker.

Veronica has had temporary shelter in a small, one-room building. This building has no windows and only has a metal roof that offers little protection. Now, the owner of this building needs to use it for other purposes, so Veronica is facing homelessness again.

  CARITAS steps in

CARITAS found the children on the roadside, and after that first encounter, the children were enrolled the children into the child sponsorship program.

A few months later, Philomela received a boarding school scholarship! Veronica is so incredibly grateful for the help. Noeline was also able to get sponsorship to be able to attend boarding school as well.

Unfortunately, Veronica only has until June of 2025 to find a new place to live.
