Welter is currently facing significant challenges after the loss of his father to an unspecified illness. Now, he lives with his mother, who has been left temporarily incapacitated following a surgical operation on her back due to an accident. This has placed the family in a precarious financial situation, living below the poverty line and relying on sporadic assistance from friends and family members for basic necessities.

Despite these hardships, Welter is enrolled in school and endeavors to succeed academically. However, his progress is hindered by financial constraints that affect his ability to consistently meet school requirements, which are crucial for his continued education and academic success.

To achieve his ambition of becoming an accountant, Welter urgently requires additional support. Assistance with school fees and other educational necessities would enable him to focus on his studies without the constant worry of financial barriers, potentially changing the course of his future for the better.

About my community:
St. Francis of Assisi (Lugazi)
In the Lugazi Diocese, CARITAS finds some of the poorest families in all of Uganda. Because of St. Francis of Assisi's great love for the poor, he is the patron of this community. We pray for his intercession so that more children in this diocese have a chance to overcome the poverty that they have always known.
About my country:
Uganda
Known as the "Pearl of Africa," Uganda is located on the shores of Lake Victoria in the Great Lakes region of East Africa. Since emerging from decades of civil war and the devastation of AIDs, estimates indicate that 48% of Uganda's population is below the age of 15. Young children suffer disproportionately in the struggle to access healthcare, education, and clean water.
