When Siraje was about two moths old, his father left the family in a rental house and disappeared. Since his mother wasn’t working and couldn’t pay, the landlord threw them out the following month. Siraje’s mother lived on street with her baby for a few weeks until someone helped her with transportation costs to go back to her village. When she still couldn’t find a home of their own to live in, she moved in with a man she knew in the village; this man’s wife had also left him with 4 children so Siraje’s mom became their stepmother.
Neither Siraje nor his mother has any idea of his father’s whereabouts. His mother and stepdad grow enough food to feed and clothe all their children, but they find it difficult to keep them all in school.
Siraje needs a sponsorship so that he can finish his education and go on to become an accountant like he hopes to do one day.
