Robina’s parents are alive, and both  peasant farmers. His mother vends harvests  from her small garden and sometimes  buys from other farmers while his father keeps himself-busy in the garden and sometimes cleaning rich peoples’ compounds.

The little money earned by both parents is used in sustaining the home and clearing fees for their children.

The parents’ activities are not so dependable in terms of income to the family because some of these products from the gardens are seasonal. Usually, the mother fails to get from her garden and that means she buys from fellow farmers. This turns out to be a problem to the family as the income will be so low to allow the family have a descent living.

Robina attends classes from a school that is located in her home area. She loves staying at  school without being sent home to collect fees balances. If assistance is accorded to her, she will be able to work hard so as to be a doctor.

About my community:
St. Francis of Assisi (Lugazi)
In the Lugazi Diocese, CARITAS finds some of the poorest families in all of Uganda. Because of St. Francis of Assisi's great love for the poor, he is the patron of this community. We pray for his intercession so that more children in this diocese have a chance to overcome the poverty that they have always known.
About my country:
Uganda
Known as the "Pearl of Africa," Uganda is located on the shores of Lake Victoria in the Great Lakes region of East Africa. Since emerging from decades of civil war and the devastation of AIDs, estimates indicate that 48% of Uganda's population is below the age of 15. Young children suffer disproportionately in the struggle to access healthcare, education, and clean water.
