Henry lives with his sickly grandmother along with his parents who are gardeners. They do not have a permanent home, but they were given a small room where they live as an extended family. Both Henry’s parents never had the chance to get an education, and since they don’t own any land that they can farm for themselves, they have to work in other people’s gardens for to earn enough to survive. This has made their life very difficult for them and they would like their children to be educated so that they will have a chance at building a better future. Unfortunately, they have no means of supporting their children toward this end, so sponsorship is the only way these children will be able to go to school.

Henry is a creative boy who is always using clay to mold little figures, but his dream is becoming a doctor if he is able to get an education.

About my community:
Mary Queen of Families (Kasana-Luweero)
The Kasana-Luweero diocese suffered a massacre during the 1981-1986 civil war which left many children orphaned. As the effects of this tragedy are still felt today, we pray to Mary, Queen of Families to help build healthy families and restore hope in this diocese.
About my country:
Uganda
Known as the "Pearl of Africa," Uganda is located on the shores of Lake Victoria in the Great Lakes region of East Africa. Since emerging from decades of civil war and the devastation of AIDs, estimates indicate that 48% of Uganda's population is below the age of 15. Young children suffer disproportionately in the struggle to access healthcare, education, and clean water.
