Divine is a cheerful and friendly young girl who loves playing with other children on the swings. She currently lives with her grandmother, who has cared for her ever since Divine’s mother left two years ago.

Divine’s mother became pregnant at a young age, and the father—also a student at the time—disappeared out of fear of social consequences. Overwhelmed, Divine’s mother eventually left her daughter in the care of her own mother and has not returned.

To provide for them, Divine’s grandmother works in people’s gardens in exchange for food. While she does her best, she simply can’t afford the costs of school fees and supplies. With support, Divine would have the opportunity to attend school regularly and thrive both socially and academically.
