Shukran lives with her mother and two sisters in a small house near Lake Victoria. After the passing of her father three years ago due to a short illness, the family was left in a challenging situation. Shukran's mother, who now shoulders the responsibility of providing for the family, works tirelessly but struggles to make ends meet. With no stable income, she set up a small stall in their compound where she sells items like tomatoes, onions, eggplants, green peppers, and banana leaves. However, the income from this small venture barely covers the household needs, leaving nothing for Shukran's school fees.

Shukran is a bright and dedicated student who dreams of becoming a doctor.
