Sarah's life has been marked by the tragic loss of both her parents. Her father passed away in 2013, leaving her mother without a source of income. Determined to provide for her family, Sarah's mother sought employment as a domestic worker in the Middle East. Through her hard work, she managed to support her three children and care for her elderly mother until 2022.

However, tragedy struck again when Sarah's grandmother passed away. Devastated by the news, Sarah's mother fell into a coma and sadly passed away. Now, the responsibility of caring for the three children falls upon their aunt, who made the selfless decision to leave her own home and provide for them. Despite lacking a stable job, she must ensure the well-being of the household and cover the children's educational expenses.

Recognizing the challenging circumstances, Sarah's aunt has reached out to CARITAS for children, seeking assistance. For a time, Sarah was sponsored, but unfortunately the sponsor was unable to continue. Sarah, along with her twin sisters Christine and Christellah, is in need of support to pursue their dreams. Sarah, in particular, aspires to become a teacher. By extending a helping hand to Sarah and her family, we can provide them with the means to overcome their hardships and empower Sarah to achieve her dream of becoming a teacher.

About my community:
St. Francis of Assisi (Lugazi)
In the Lugazi Diocese, CARITAS finds some of the poorest families in all of Uganda. Because of St. Francis of Assisi's great love for the poor, he is the patron of this community. We pray for his intercession so that more children in this diocese have a chance to overcome the poverty that they have always known.
About my country:
Uganda
Known as the "Pearl of Africa," Uganda is located on the shores of Lake Victoria in the Great Lakes region of East Africa. Since emerging from decades of civil war and the devastation of AIDs, estimates indicate that 48% of Uganda's population is below the age of 15. Young children suffer disproportionately in the struggle to access healthcare, education, and clean water.
