Madrine's family is facing significant financial instability as both of her parents struggle to make ends meet. Her father's job as a motorcycle passenger transport driver is one of the low-paying occupations in Uganda. He doesn't own the motorcycle he operates, and he has a daily payment arrangement with the owner, regardless of how much business he generates.

Meanwhile, Madrine's mother is a housewife who tends to their own garden for sustenance. While they are able to feed the family with the harvest, their financial situation remains precarious.

Unfortunately, Madrine's education is severely impacted by their financial constraints. She attends classes irregularly due to the lack of necessary school requirements. The school often sends her home until her father can gather enough money to pay the fees and outstanding balances, a process that can take several days. As a result, her academic performance suffers.

Despite these challenges, Madrine possesses great potential and aspires to become a teacher. With the help of a sponsor, she will be able to attend school and be given a chance at reaching her dream.
