The father who was a peasant denied being the real father of Leticia and Valeria and abandoned the family leaving all the burden of caring for the two girls. After some time, the mother found out that he had another wife and family.

The children stay with their mother who has been a local teacher earning about $50 a month which has been enough to feed and clothe the children plus some possible medical bills. Unfortunately, she was recently been diagnosed with joint infection which causes her not able to stand and walk well and she was stopped from work until she get better. At the moment, she is managing that is not able to support her two children. Valeria has been sponsored to attend day section and she will need to go to boarding as Leticia need.

Leticia need sponsorship to continue her education.
