When Jovia's father ran away and neglected the family, he left Jovia with her mother and her five siblings. He has not returned even to visit and they don't expect to ever see him again. 

Jovia's mother is a peasant and supports herself and her children by digging in other people's gardens to get food and sometimes a little extra to sell. Occasionally, the people she works for give her clothes for her children and that helps a lot.

Sadly, on her own, Jovia's mother is unable to support Jovia and her siblings in anything more than just providing them with some food. Without sponsorship, Jovia will not have proper supervision, secure daily food, and will certainly not get an education. She is in need of fulltime care at a boarding school. 

Jovia is a very fun-loving girl who enjoys singing and loved going to school when she had the chance to. Her favorite subject was science and that led her to hope that one day she could be a nurse or even a doctor if given the chance.

To help Jovia go to Stella Maris boarding school, she will need $90/month from one sponsor, or $45/month from two sponsors.
