Becoming a voice for children
CARITAS For Children is committed to sharing in God's love through service to others. We are looking for people like yourself who feel called to serve in the mission field… serving your neighbor in need in a foreign land.
CARITAS For Children is looking to develop Mission Awareness Opportunities with our indigenous religious partners in Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, Haiti and Poland.The time commitment involved could be for a week, 2 weeks, month or longer, considering a Gap Year, winter or summer break. If you may be discerning a vocation or just feeling the call as an adult, we would love to talk with you.
Our religious partners have many facilities that include schools, orphanages, clinics, hospitals, bakeries and more providing you with a direct “hands on” experience in service to adults and children in need.
The tangible objectives might vary slightly between each final location within the CARITAS For Children Mission Awareness program however in general they will include provide you with an opportunity for a number of socializing type support to children living in orphanages, or adults in homeless and emergency relief shelters. You could also be involved in educational programs to help build future opportunities to enrich the lives of those being served.
The particular ways in which this can be accomplished could include:
- Teaching or tutoring students in the English language,
- Provide technical training in useful computer software programs, such as Microsoft Office, Windows, and other daily useful programs.
- Create friendships that could either be directly or indirectly extended beyond the missionary period that could go on for years.
- Help bring about a sense of global solidarity between peer groups, families, etc.
All the facilities are secure, with clean water and food. The main thing you need to want to do is to go and love the people, the rest will happen.
