Salim's father died and left his mother, a local teacher, with all the responsibilities to take care of the family. His mother is being the caretaker and breadwinner of her home and her only job is teaching at a local school earning about $50 a month.

She uses her income to pay rent, feed, and clothe her 4 children and provides all the basic needs for the family. Even though she is a hard worker and loves her children dearly, she does not make enough money to send her children to school.

Salim is in good health, loves to draw, and would like to become an engineer in the future.
