Erisa’s mother died when he was only four months old, leaving him and his four siblings with their father. Erisa’s father is a peasant who suffers from a lung issue which is a long-term effect of tuberculosis. He and his wife were both afflicted with the disease at the same time; tragically his wife did not survive.

In spite of his condition, Erisa’s father is currently earning some money by making medicine deliveries on his bicycle from the health center to sick people in the area. In addition, he and his older children also farm to grow food for the family to eat.

Erisa is a friendly boy who has enjoyed the time he has spent in school and made good progress. He needs a sponsorship to stay in school to ease the burden on his father. Erisa would like to become a teacher when he grows up if he is able to finish his education.
