Christine is a determined and bright young girl who faces financial challenges in pursuing her education. She is being raised by her single mother, who was abandoned by her husband some time ago. Christine's mother works as a farmer, but her income is limited and barely sufficient to provide for her nine children.

In an effort to improve their family's future, Christine's mother is prioritizing the education of her older children, hoping that they will graduate and return home to contribute to the family's financial stability. Unfortunately, this means that Christine's own education is not given the attention it deserves.
