John, the youngest of five siblings, possesses a strong passion for education and has consistently ranked among the top-performing students. Regrettably, a life-altering incident occurred when his father, the provider of his school fees, suffered an electric shock that inflicted nerve damage, rendering him unable to work. Previously employed as an electrician, John's father contributed financially to support the education of John and his siblings, while John's mother provided food for the family with her work as a peasant farmer. Now the family is under significant financial strain.

The unfortunate consequence of this circumstance is that John and his siblings are unable to attend school due to the unavailability of tuition fee support. While the other children have advanced beyond primary school, John faces the possibility of prematurely discontinuing his education at a lower primary level. His dream of pursuing a future as an engineer is at risk due to this financial setback. If John were sponsored it would allow him to continue his studies and achieve his dream despite the challenges he and his family are confronting.

About my community:
St. Joseph (Kiyinda-Mityana)
The Kiyanda-Mityana diocese experiences serious social problems that include high rates of orphans, school dropouts, delinquency, and violence against women, children, and even priests. We pray to St. Joseph for his protection against these evils and to help guide our young people in this diocese.
About my country:
Uganda
Known as the "Pearl of Africa," Uganda is located on the shores of Lake Victoria in the Great Lakes region of East Africa. Since emerging from decades of civil war and the devastation of AIDs, estimates indicate that 48% of Uganda's population is below the age of 15. Young children suffer disproportionately in the struggle to access healthcare, education, and clean water.
