Bobi is the youngest of eight children who faced the tragic loss of their father to an undisclosed illness. Their family, plagued by financial instability, was unable to afford medical treatment for their ailing father. In the aftermath of his passing, Bobi's mother became the sole provider, working tirelessly to sustain the family by collecting firewood and selling charcoal. Despite her efforts to meet the basic needs of the household, the income generated falls significantly short of covering the tuition fees for Bobi and his siblings. Consequently, their school attendance is irregular, highlighting the impact of financial instability on their education.
The family's story underscores the harsh realities many face when trying to balance financial constraints and the pursuit of education. Bobi's mother, in her earnest commitment to her family's well-being, has sought assistance from CARITAS For Children. This outreach reflects her hope for support in providing her children with the educational opportunities that can uplift them from the challenges of poverty. When meeting the family, the CARITAS Team looked in Bobi's school workbook, and it appeared that he was only able to attend school for fifteen out of eighty nine calendar school days. This lack of attendance causes him to struggle in school, and yet, he still loves learning. He hopes to be a teacher someday.
Supporting Bobi and his family through CARITAS For Children is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on their lives, offering a pathway to education and the realization of aspirational dreams despite the adversity they face.
